The Classes
The methodology that is used
in all classes consists of teaching Spanish in a natural way. Emphasis
is placed on speaking the language and learning the grammar and the contextual
vocabulary through conversation. This conversation integrates the student
using topics of daily life. The classes in this method are conversational,
flexible and adaptive to the student's interests.
These techniques include the
use of varied materials such as graphics, flash cards, storybooks, vocabulary
cards, pronunciation exercises and most importantly, the real atmosphere
and culture that surrounds the students and the class. |
|
The classes include a wealth of information on
places of interest in the country. The classes, handouts and exercise
book (for special programs) are very informative and help the students
familiarize themselves with the natural use of the language and with the
geography, customs, expressions and culture of the country.
3 Programs To Choose From:
|
1. Tutoring
- At your own site, at your own
pace!
The students are assisted in their own local:
in their hotel, in their house, in their work, etc. The cost of $8 per
hour is for private classes, for people that are staying in Nicaragua.
The cost includes the classes and materials.
There are no specific minimum hours; the
instructor is flexible according to the student’s needs or budget.
The participant studies what they want to study, at their own pace.
2. Immersion Courses
These classes are organized for people
interested in coming to Nicaragua
to study Spanish. The price includes lodging with a local family, meals,
laundry, cultural activities, and afternoon excursions. An exercise book
and Spanish grammar guide are also included. The instructor teaches all
classes in the student’s local. Lessons can be taught one on one
or in small groups of 2 or 3.
The classes are scheduled for 3 hours in the morning,
Monday to Friday, for a minimum of one week. The length of the program
is up to the student. The week-long immersion program begins on Sunday
and ends on Saturday.
The immersion courses are offered in Nicaragua
in two beautiful places: in the colonial city of Granada or in San
Juan del Sur, a calm coastal town on the Pacific Ocean, located in
southern Nicaragua.
Cost in US Dollars: 1 week $210; 2 weeks $400;
3 weeks $590; 4 weeks $780. Course registration is required 1 week before
the program begins. A certificate is issued to the student upon completion
of the course.
3.
Special Intensive Programs
These programs are aimed at university
student groups, family groups, professors of Spanish in Canada or United
States, independent groups, and secondary schools. These immersion programs
include everything except the flight and travel/health insurance.
The duration and focus of the course depends
on the interests and desires of the students. These courses must be booked
in advance, as there is a lot of organization involved. Please send an
email outlining your desires for an accurate price quote.
These special programs include everything in
a single package: classes, complete study materials, lodging with a local
family, meals, laundry, trips, cultural activities and a participation
certificate at the end of the course.
Group rates for tutoring
programs!
We can accomodate groups of any size for any program.
We will organize an excellent team of instructors to attend to the needs
of all groups. The instructors accompany the students on all trips, excursions,
and cultural activities.
The special programs can include
time in both Nicaragua and Costa Rica. For example, the classes may be
split between Nicaragua and Costa Rica in order to experience both cultures.
If you prefer, the classes can be taught in Nicaragua, with weekend trips
to Costa Rica. The special programs are based in the colonial city of
Granada, Nicaragua. Granada is one of the oldest colonial cities on the
American continent.
Prices for the Immersion Programs are slightly
different for classes in Costa Rica and Nicaragua due to differences in
the cost of living in the two countries. |
